I am always streaming something, always. Lots of music from grooveshark and when I just can't choose a specific artist Pandora. I need to re-do my Itunes it's a mess and currently I just avoid it. Podcasts, love them. This American Life, Radiolab, The Moth, the list goes on.And, Ted Talks, lots and lots of Ted talks. If I am feeling a need to connect to our previous home it's 89.3, duh.
One of my all time favorites. I could listen to them all day for months and need nothing more.
Definatly not for everyone, Brady doesn't really like them.
That's okay, I don't mind.
Andrew bird and Annie Clark = win, win
They are so whimsical and isn't she just something lovely.
Brady and I are Weeners. I hope Sunny will be too.
Being weird is much fun.
I am so hooked on this. It's not grandma appropriate, I hope she doesn't watch this. Or I hope A. Banks is talking too fast for grandma to understand what she's saying.
Oh yah, it's vulgar.
Love Holly Golightly.
I always enjoy a good cover. This one is the bee's knee's.
Whoa, such a big boy! It seems that time has taken on a warp speed. The days are truly flying by, fast. He is growing at a rapid pace. I can't keep up with this kid. Along with turning 10 months old he popped out another tooth! This time on top. We are talking some serious teething here. Right down to breaking out in a rash, poor kid. I give him carrots and freeze a teething ring and as many snuggles and kisses as he needs and could possibly want.
These boots & socks are killing me with cuteness.
Second,
It's warm and sunny and we shall be outside. As much as possible.
Last weekend we put in two more raised beds. Yes! We went to our local garden store and bought some plants. Tomatoes, onions, and peppers. Can you say salsa? Salsa!
Here in California we have gophers, which requires us to dig down and lay chicken wire to protect the roots of our lovelies. So far this has worked with our other beds. Brady and I had a fantastic time playing in the dirt. God, I love him!
Then, we planted and watered the new garden. Brady dremeled the top of this orange juice container for me. It was a Pintrest thing. At first it didn't work that well and then he realized it needed another hole by the handle to release suction. Now it works like a dream! Thanks babe! Oh the joy I feel from reusing and recycling.
After all that hard work it's time for beers.
Peebers naturally.
Established in Milwaukee, Wisconsin in 1844.
Third,
Let's check in on those sprouts. They are coming up fast!
Detroit Dark Red Beets
Thyme
Sky Scrapper Sunflower
Sky Scrapper Sunflower
I must admit I get a littleimpatient waiting for things to sprout. Still no sign of life with the tomatoes and peppers or the basil...
Then we have this. In the excitement of it all I made this. I have no idea what it is. It's a wait and see thing. I guess...
And, before we get off the subject of gardening...
Healthy people are happy people.
Fourth,
It's spring time! Time to change things up in the house...
During winter it made sense to have the couch facing the cozy wood burning stove. But it is a different season now. Putting the couch along the wall gave us a HUGE open space where we can stretch in the morning before our run and play in the afternoon without bumping into anything. Both Sunny and Kota are big fans. Me too! If feels so much better, so much more open.
Before we had our dining table below the manzanita tree. Now we have our big ol' record player there. This frees up a lot of space if your sitting at the bar and also gives you room to dance when you hear Spanish Flea by Herb Alpert and the Tijuana Brass come on the record player!
Fifth, Music. Just stuff I've been listening to.
French Kicks-Sex tourists
I like a lot of their stuff.
Hanni El Khatib-Come Alive
Love this video. That little grrl is killin' it.
Bonnie Blue on The Cyper Effect
She's always real and there's no slowin' her down.
There are 365 days of gardening to be had in California.
I will need all of them. I am new to this gardening thing. I mean, I have helped others with theirs here & there. But this one is all ours. I consider this year, mostly, a trial run. I won't get on myself too much if things don't go as planned. But, I do want to produce a ton of food. Like, a TON. I feel like there is a pipeline going from Brady's wallet to the grocery store. And what's worse? It's not even the food we really want to be purchasing. Which is orgainc and local. It's also very costly here in California. I know people say that a lot and it's totally true. Those state taxes really get ya. Bummer.
Seeds
Of all sorts. Veggies, Herbs, flowers and fruit. I used to work with Rainbow Seeds, these guys are the best!
Kayla dropped by on Tuesday to help me get them going.
Dang, too busy having fun to get a snap shot.
At first this
packaging really peeved me. Do not put my mangos in plastic, that's dumb
and wasteful. But, you know what? This turned out to be a pretty
sweet little/mini greenhouse. This container contains Skyscrapper
Sunflowers and Nasturtiums.
Poor Brady.
Always has to put up with me saving all kinds of cardboard. If it's not for makeshift postcards it's something else. In this case, it's for planting seeds. And these worked wonderfully. Not to mention they were free and out of his hair in a relatively timely fashion. Although, they are wearing out quickly. Eh, we'll see.
There is this wonderful planter.
It's a strawberry planter, but there are no strawberries in here.
Just herbs.
My boys enjoying the beautiful weather and the great outdoors.
Music...
and then there is this...
And one more for good measure.
That should do. Ah, summer. It's coming I can totally feel it heatin' up.
Lately, I have been inspired by a number of blogs. So inspired, well, I just went off and started my own. Only good things can come of this. Sure I have things to share. I enjoy a great many things. I'd like to tell someone about them. I enjoy food, family, fun and other things that start with the letter "F". Like...flowers. I also enjoy crafting and music of all sorts. Gardening, we should talk about gardening.
